ACADEMIC INFORMATION
Access
As established by R.D. 1393/2007:
1. To access official Master’s degree programs, it will be necessary to hold an official Spanish university degree or another issued by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Area that qualifies in the country issuing the degree for access to Master’s degree programs.
2. Likewise, graduates from educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area may access without the need for homologation of their degrees, after verification by the University that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and that qualify in the country issuing the degree for access to postgraduate studies. Access by this route will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party, nor its recognition for purposes other than pursuing Master’s degree studies.

Admission
For the admission of students, the following will be assessed:
1) Suitability of the degree to the areas of knowledge of the Master’s program. It will have a total weight of 30% of the final assessment.
2) Personal academic record. It will have a total weight of 10% of the final assessment. Grades in the bachelor’s degree will be taken into account.
3) Curriculum vitae. It will have a total weight of 10% of the final assessment.
4) Activities of a scientific-professional nature that are appropriate to the study plan proposed in the Master’s program. It will have a total weight of 20% of the final assessment.
5) Explanatory request: It will have a total weight of 30% of the final assessment. Both the applicant’s motivation to carry out the Master’s program and the adjustment of their expectations with the requirements for achieving it will be taken into account.
Number of places offered: 30 places.
The access and admission requirements will be evaluated by a Student Admission Committee that will be formed by the Head of Studies, Master’s Program Management and Secretariat, who will prepare a list of admitted, excluded and waiting list.
The Study Plan of the Official Master’s Degree in Organization of Events, Protocol and Institutional Relations has a duration of 60 credits, divided into two semesters.
Of these 60 credits, 42 correspond to the first semester, dedicated to learning and studying professional skills and the most technical subjects related to the Organization of Events, Protocol and Institutional Relations.
In the remaining 18 credits, the student may carry out internships in the company or the research practicum, either for the professional or research orientation they select, and the completion of the Master’s Thesis.
The Master’s program consists of 3 modules: Compulsory, Specific and In-depth.
Compulsory Module
This module contains the advanced social and professional skills for the training of the director of high-performance teams, Event Organizer or head of Protocol and Institutional Relations in the exercise of their functions. These are fundamental training contents for the student that allow them to approach with competence the professional practice required by said Master’s program. It refers to the compulsory subject called Management Skills.
Specific Module
This module contains the specific knowledge in the field of Event Organization, Protocol and Institutional Relations. It is divided into three subjects with a total of 35.5 credits: Organization of Events, Protocol and Institutional Relations, which correspond to the contents of the aforementioned. These subjects are developed in the first semester.
In-depth Module
It gives the student the option to opt for a professional orientation of their Master’s program, offering internships in companies, or a research orientation, with the possibility of carrying out a subject with a research character. In both, the student must develop the Master’s Thesis subject. The total number of ECTS credits that the student must pass will be 18.
*Note: The language used in the training process will be Spanish.
NOTE:*The issuance of this title entails the payment of administrative fees, to be paid at the time of requesting the title.
The student will value the knowledge acquired in MST through the realization of a proposal for Organization of Events, Protocol or Institutional Relations program.
The Master’s Thesis will be evaluated through an oral and public test once at least 75% of the Master’s credits have been passed.
The student will be tutored by professors of the Master’s program and the project will be defended before an evaluation commission that will determine the direction of the Master’s program. The presentation and defense of the project, together with the overcoming of the minimum requirements, will be a necessary condition to obtain the title.
A wide number of varied topics are offered to satisfy the needs of the students. The different topics or lines of research offered for students to carry out the Master’s Thesis will be in accordance with the curricular development chosen during the teaching period.
The TFM represents 12 ECTS credits within the study plan of this Official Postgraduate Degree.

Adequate knowledge of administrations, companies, institutions, public bodies and organizations in general, regulations and procedures necessary for the realization of events and other activities related to Protocol and Institutional Relations.
Specific Competencies
Ability to identify and know the problems of the integral management of events and apply and develop solutions and original ideas to solve them.
Show a reasonable critical sense and intellectual curiosity about the new strategies that have arisen for the establishment of good understanding between organizations.
Ability to improve professional skills and resources aimed at the development and innovation of corporations.
Ability to know the current state of research in the field of event organization, protocol and institutional relations.
Ability to organize the flow of generation, evaluation and selection of ideas and apply them in an innovative way to the integral management of events.
Ability to identify the different leadership styles and discover new work habits that are useful to start a process of development of a high-performance work team.
Ability to adapt the knowledge acquired in protocol matters to the definition of new problems and the analysis of their effects on mediation between states.
Ability to plan and develop, step by step, an investigation on the organization of events, protocol or institutional relations, mastering the techniques to write expository, interpretive, demonstrative and executive reports.
Design, develop and evaluate in an advanced way the organization of an event, taking into account the advances established in terms of protocol and organizational relations.
Ability to recognize the influence and importance of protocol, as a tool for the good development of understanding between states and successfully implement actions that induce it.
Ability to recognize and highlight the link between innovation and creativity and its influence on the development of events.
Be able to know and apply the most appropriate protocol tools to the objectives of an organization creating, implementing and evaluating with it the decision making from a strategic vision.
Student’s ability to know the tools of personal branding to acquire a personal positioning towards the achievement of any objective.
Know and adjust to the deontological obligations of the Protocol and Events professional.
Know how to apply the evaluation models in the organization of events and select the appropriate data collection instruments in each case.
Ability to develop communication strategies that favor institutional relations and the organization of events.

Be able to know the companies and the specific protocol in this field, seeking the application of protocol techniques, looking for the necessary innovations and their relationship with official institutional acts.

To formalize the reservation of a place in the Official Master’s Degree in Organization of Events, Protocol and Institutional Relations, the student must send the following completed pre-registration form to the email address admisiones@protocoloimep.com, attaching the following documentation:

The pre-registration period for this Master’s program is established from February 1 to June 30.

Once the Enrollment period (from July 1 to October 6) is open, the student must fill out the enrollment form: in-person enrollment, distance enrollment and send it to admisiones@protocoloimep.com along with the required documentation.

The classes of the face-to-face modality are taught: in the afternoon from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This postgraduate program is aimed at both students and professionals:
Students: Students who have completed official studies in areas of communication or marketing and wish to continue their studies and specialize in the area of Event Organization, Protocol and Institutional Relations. Students of careers such as Advertising and Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Marketing, Tourism… are a key profile in this Master’s program.
Students of the Official Degree in Organization of Events, Protocol and Institutional Relations may complement their studies with the option of the research branch where they acquire the skills and tools necessary for the documentation and dissemination of research.
This MST, due to its multidisciplinary nature, is also aimed at those graduates who want to complement their training in the field of Institutional Relations. It is a perfect complement to degrees such as Law, Political Science, Anthropology…
